2018 saw a typically warm and dry growing season in McLaren Vale with temperatures generally 1-degree Celsius above average. Spring rains brought good growth and soil moisture out of a relatively dry winter. January and February saw near ideal conditions deliver Shiraz with intense colour and flavour development.
Tasting Notes
Bright and fresh aromas of raspberry, plum and mulberry with subtle notes of peat, musk and mocha. Bright and juicy red and purple fruit flavour to the fore. Blueberry, boysenberry and mulberry abound with complexing notes of rhubarb, cola, aniseed and soft vanilla spice. A fine savoury tannin structure combines with the soft natural acidity to produce a wine with impressive balance and persistence.
